Pictured is Jerry Lane Hester of the Martin community with his 13.2 pound bass caught July 27, 2024, on Grand Bayou Reservoir. Hester, quite the fisherman, has caught many large bass out of this lake. He says this is the largest fish he has ever caught. He plans to have a replica of the fish made under Grand Bayou Resort’s Lunker program.

The resort and Grand Bayou Reservoir District will pay for replicas of any fish caught at the lake over 10 pounds. If the fisherman wants a replica, the fish must first be officially weighed by resort personnel, then returned to the lake alive and in good condition.
