The Coushatta Police Department investigated an incident that occurred leading to a suspect being arrested for Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery and False Imprisonment.

On June 6, 2024 at approximately 7am, the Coushatta Police Department was dispatched to Christus Coushatta Hospital in reference to a victim who was severely physically beaten. Officers responded and collected information to identify a suspect. Officers worked hours collecting information, which included speaking to witnesses who made contact with the victim and searching video surveillance that captured the incident.

During the course of the investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Kevin Tingle (B/M, 34 yrs old of Coushatta). A warrant was issued for the arrest of Tingle.

With the assistance of the Red River Sheriff’s Office, Tingle was located at his residence outside of the city limits and apprehended without incident at approximately 10pm on June 6. 

The victim is currently listed in stable condition.
