Preparing for Christmas in Coushatta is in full swing. The town lights are going up, and stores are full of Christmas decor. The big Coushatta-Red River Chamber of Commerce/Town of Coushatta Christmas Parade and fireworks are on December 7. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. The route for the parade will be the same as in years past. All floats will line up in the industrial park at the ball fields. Floats will line up behind the band and official dignitaries. No candy will be thrown until the floats turn onto Ringgold Avenue. The official start of the parade will be in front of the Red River Community Center and continue through Front Street. All floats will disembark at the First Methodist Church parking lot. Fireworks will start at 6:00 p.m.
This year’s parade theme is “Christmas in Your Heart.” All floats should represent what puts Christmas in your heart. It might be a song, the Christ story, a tree, or a toy; the examples are endless. Use this link to get your float on the list.
Vendors are an essential part of the parade experience. Vendors may use this link to sign up. Vendors include merchandise, food, church groups, and stores.
