Chamber of Commerce reaches out to businesses

The Coushatta/Red River Chamber of Commerce is contacting all businesses for input on the activities and events for the fall and spring. Each year, the Chamber has participated in and sponsored several events. This year, they ask area business owners to help plan and participate in an expanded roster.

President Karen Squires says, “The businesses of Coushatta and the Red River Parish area need to have a voice. We want business representation, large and small, at each meeting. We want to determine what the businesses need and how the Chamber can help.” The Christmas parade, Front Street/Courthouse lighting, and fireworks are the largest activities put on each year by the Chamber. This also encompasses the Fill Santa’s Sleigh shopping event. An egg hunt at City Park was added this year to entice people into town on a Saturday.

Squires wants all the businesses to complete a survey to give board members a better idea of what business owners need and want to see in our area. “The form is an easy 5-minute activity that we can take back to our meetings and help us plan for the needs of the community”, said Squires. “We encourage every business owner, sole proprietorship. Manufacturing and restaurant to participate. Your input is important to us.”
