W. O. W. Wise Ones Working

Do you have time to volunteer? Have you ever thought about how to give back to your community? These ladies have found a way to make a difference in the lives of the students at Red River Parish schools. They are affectionately known as the WOW ladies, and they can be seen in their blue vests on school campuses. For years, this group has assisted in open houses, parent/teacher conferences, and school events. W.O.W. has also been instrumental in working the backpack nights for the district in years past.

On August 14, this group was recognized at the school board meeting for their dedication to all things Red River. Mrs. Strong highlighted their tireless efforts in the Bulldog store at RRES. “Each year, they run the store for the students of RRES. Many hours are spent preparing, working, and filling the orders of students.”

When asked what it takes to be a W.O.W, Ceila Norma said, “Just a willingness to work for the children.” “You don’t have to be a retired teacher or school worker. Anyone can join us. You just need to have some time to give to the children.”

For more information on how to become part of this superb group, contact Ceila Norman or any of the ladies pictured. They will get you started immediately. Norman says, “Come on and join us! You know you look good in Bulldog Blue!”
