Impressive Black History Program at Red River High

On February 7th Red River High students put on an event representing historical figures in black history in a living wax museum. Students dressed in character and prepared speeches containing the important contributions of the person they represented.

Visitors were able to interact with the characters and vote on their favorite selections.  The school issued a special thanks to Zander Martez for singing “Lift Every Voice”. We would like to thank Ms. Thomas for all of her hard work and dedication in organizing this event.

Former Principal JC Dickey visited the event and commented, ”I had a great time walking around RRHS black history wax museum.  There were over 75 students taking part in presenting.  I got to talk to Michael Jackson, Steph Curry, Justin Jefferson, Mike Eeps, Willie Mays, Barbra Jordan, Kathrine Johnson and so many more.”  He added, “It was a great way to celebrate Black History Month.  Let’s never forget our past as we move into the future.”
