Riverdale Academy is proud to announce the October and November Students of the Month. They were recognized last week by the Coushatta VFW Post and Auxiliary 7287 and Lott Oil/Chevron.
The October Students are:
Elementary student of the month is 2nd grader Remington Bamberg. Remi is the daughter of Earl and Pam Bamberg. Her teacher said Remi is a hard worker, is kind to everyone, and is a joy to have in class. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite food is spaghetti noodles. On Friday nights you can find her on the sidelines with her Mini Rebel Cheer Squad cheering on the Rebels.
Middle school student of the month is 7th grader Jax Hearold. Jax is the son of Shelby and Melanie Hearold. Jax’s teachers said he is a very hard worker and is willing to go the extra mile to stay on top of his work, often staying in at PE for help on concepts he doesn’t quite understand. His favorite color is blue, and his favorite food is steak. Jax is a multi-sport athlete, but baseball is his favorite. He plays baseball at Riverdale and also plays travel ball with the LA Patriots, who just brought home a first place that we had won from a tournament in Texas.
High school student of the month is senior Jessie Kate Cobb. Jessie Kate is the daughter of Rodney and Mary Vay Cobb. Jessie’s teachers agree that she is a very hard worker in class and wants to be successful in all areas. She is a multi-sport athlete, recently being named to the all MAIS softball game and being chosen to play in the MAIS all-star game. She also plays basketball and cheers for the Rebels. Jessie Kate was the 2022 RA Homecoming Queen. She is undecided about where she wants to attend college, but she plans to major in education.
These are Riverdale Academy’s November Students of the Month:
The elementary student of the month is 5th grader Lane Mancil. Lane is the son of Brian and Brittney Mancil. Lane has been an honor roll student for his entire school career and has participated in school, district, and overall reading fairs. He is a very hard worker in class, and his favorite subject is math. He plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Rebels and enjoys gaming and going fishing, noodling specifically.
The middle school student of the month is 8th grader Abbie Jowers. Abbie is the daughter of James and Jessica Jowers. She is a very hard worker in class and wants to be successful in school and all aspects of life. She is an honor roll student and gets along with others. Abbie enjoys all of her school subjects and loves learning. She plays basketball for the JV Lady Rebels and is also a Rebel cheerleader. Abbie is also a great big sister to her brother Jesse and her sister Evelyn.
And the November high school student of the month is freshman Makayla Pickett. She is the daughter of Jeremy and Jennifer Pickett. Makayla is a very involved member of the Riverdale student body. She is a super hard worker in the classroom and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She is on the Rebel Yearbook Staff, is a member of FCA and BETA, and is president of her class. Makayla is very active in sports at Riverdale where she plays softball, basketball, track, and cheers for the football boys under the Friday Night Lights. She is eagerly awaiting crawfish season in the spring.
