Red River Schools Students of the Month

Public Schools Students of the Month for November were presented to the December Meeting of the School Board.  Superintendent Alison Strong recognized each and presented them with gift cards and certificates.

The student selected from Red River Elementary is Alanah Demery.  Strong read her Nomination statement, “Alanah is an awesome fourth grade student. She has a positive attitude and a great personality. She comes to school ready to listen and learn. She completes all assignments and always tries to meet her goals. Alanah is a great role model in class and is always willing to help others.”

Kyrah Nelson was introduced as Student of the Month from the Red River Academic Academy.  Strong said, “I chose Kyrah because she is a very unique individual who doesn’t mind lending a hand to her fellow classmates or teacher. She always makes sure that her work is completed and that it is correct. Kyrah has a smile that lights up the room with happiness and can turn your day around. She is very soft spoken, but her words stand because of her excellent communication skills. She is a natural-born leader who has great charisma.  I am very thankful for the opportunity to teach such an exceptional young lady who is making a great impact both in and out of the classroom. Kyrah, keep being unapologetically you and soar into greatness.”  She was nominated by Mrs. Babers.

From Red River Junior High, the student selected was Jamarion Iverson.  Strong read his nomination, “Jamarion is our Student of the Month. He always does all his work  and has improved so much in all classes that he has an “A” in ELA and math and is a member of the RRJH National Honor Society. He has taken a big leadership role; he tries to keep students quiet and on track, and he puts up chromebooks every day. If someone is disrespectful, he corrects them before the teacher has to. He has impressed the entire 8th grade team.”  He was nominated by Mrs. Cooper.

From Red River High, Samuel Tates was named Student of the Month.  Strong said, “Sam is an incredibly hard-working student. Every day, he comes in prepared and ready to work. He’s a student that takes care of his business with minimal complaint.  When done with his work, he ensures his peers also understand the material. It is evident that Sam prioritizes effort, and the affect he has on the classroom is incredibly positive.”  Tates was nominated by Mrs. Boudreaux.

Each month Students of the Month are recognized from all schools in the Parish.  The local VFW Post and Auxiliary 7287 along with Lott Oil/Chevron present the students with certificates and gift cards to the Chevron C-store.
