Riverdale Seniors Present “North Pole’s Got Talent”

By Molly Seales

Riverdale Academy Seniors decided to bring back the Christmas play, and on December 9, they presented their play “North Pole’s Got Talent” for the students, faculty, and parents. The stage was set at Santa’s Workshop for a North Pole talent competition. Under the direction of Dr. Hunter Brown, these students worked for weeks on their play to make sure it was a great success. It was a great morning of entertainment, with the seniors cast in roles that fit their personalities.

Senior class members and their main roles were as follows: Luke Greer-Mistletoe and Emily Kirkland-Holly, who were the co-hosts of the show; Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were portrayed by Thad Bates and Baylee Whittington; Ruby, the red-lipped reindeer was full of puns and the role was played by Emma Clemons; Merry, the exuberant toymaker was played by Jessie Kate Cobb, and Coal, the keeper of the “naughty and nice” list was played by Sarah Kate York; elf twins Jingle (Tyler Parker) and Bell (Mason Murray) put on a great show for the crowd. Villains of the play were Jack Frost, played by Ben Almond and the Snow Queen, played by Molly Seales. They were the ornery spirit of winter and the chilly-hearted queen of the cold. Fern (Jace Wilhite) and Spruce (Colten Massey) were tough elf security guards, and Tinsel, the keeper of Santa’s reindeer, was played by James Wagoner. Some of the cast members played two roles.

The senior class would like to thank Mrs. Joni Riggs for filling in as Donner the reindeer and Coach Jared for filling in as Prancer-and he did some prancing! They also would like to thank Dr. Brown for his patience and dedication and principal Mr. Danny Rester for his help and his piano playing. The RA Senior Class wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a blessed year in 2023!
