Thursday was the United States Marine Corps birthday. Red River Junior High posted, “We celebrated our 4 Marines on campus.
“Thank you for your dedication and service to our country and thank you for choosing Red River Junior High and Red River High School as the place to impart your knowledge. We appreciate you so much! Happy Marine Corps birthday to Mr. Jibri Houston (band), Mr. Ross Gamble (counselor), Mr. Cody Kent (ISS), and Mr. Henry Kirts (math)! Thank you to Whits End Cookie Company for the awesome cookies.”
This was the 247th anniversary of the founding of the U S Marine Corps. The corps began at a tavern in Philadelphia in 1775, during the time leading up to the Revolutionary War.
