From the National Weather Service:  A heat advisory is in effect through 7:00 pm tonight.  Hight temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s coupled with high humidity may cause heat related illnesses to occur. Please continue to take any necessary precautionary actions.

Heads up y’all, the York Chop be CLOSED July 5 through July 9.  It’s time for us and our team to escape the heat of the pit with a much needed break. We’ll see you Tuesday July 12.

A beginning ceramics class, “Playing in the Mud,” will be offered through Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education starting Thursday, July 7. The class will be offered on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. through August 11 in Room 113 of the Fine Arts Annex.  The fee is $125 plus a $20 material fee paid directly to the instructor on the first night of class. Enrollment to the class is limited.

Don’t forget today at 2:00 pm Harvey Rabbit and Friends will be performing at the library. There will be fun and prizes.  It’s part of the summer program for children at the Red River Parish Library.
