The Red River Parish School Board recognized many students, teachers, support staff and others at the June board meeting on Monday.  We will begin with recognition of years of service to the school system by the board.  Other recognitions will be included in the Journal’s Friday edition.

A certificate and round of applause was given to school board member Richard Cannon.  He has been on the school board for 20 years.  Cannon has served several times as president of the school board.

Then Superintendent Alison Strong was surprised with an award of her own.  Board President Susan Taylor called Strong to the front of the room and presented her with a certificate recognizing 25 years of service to the schools of the parish.
