One person is in jail another injured following a car crash in front of Family Dollar store.  It happened about 8:00 am Wednesday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office has identified the person arrested as Shaquanna T. Mayfield of Coushatta.  She is charged with Aggravated Second Degree Battery and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Coushatta Police made the arrest after the accident.  Police Chief Kevin Stafford told the Journal that a black sedan was parked in front of the dollar store.  Another vehicle rammed the back of the sedan multiple times.  That caused the sedan to end up on the sidewalk between the front wall of the store and a brick support pillar.  Stafford said a woman in the sedan was injured and taken to the hospital.

Witnesses said the other vehicle left the scene.  Mayfield was arrested a short time later and booked into the parish jail at 10:50 am.
