Red River Bulldog Baseball is quickly approaching. The roster is full with 22 players, 3 of those are seniors and 6 returning starters. Seniors leading this pack of Dawgs are Ryder Hogan, Pierce Kellogg and Keagan King. The team has been practicing daily to be the best team possible. The Bulldogs have had two scrimmages, playing against Southwood and Choudrant.
We caught up with Coach Chris Reed and asked for his thoughts for the season. “Players are working hard this year. They want to make a deep postseason run which we are very capable of. Players were at the field an hour early during our two week break ready to get to work every day.”
Coach Reed had a prediction, “I believe we can win a District Championship this year. We took one game from Winnfield last year who won District last year. And we are a much better team than last year.” The team is off to a good start, said Reed “We scrimmaged Southwood and Choudrant so far. Beat Southwood 10-5 but lost to Choudrant 6-3. Not bad though considering they are defending state champs.”
The gorgeous field is ready for play. Bulldogs will host Woodlawn at the season opener Feb 23. Be sure to mark dates on your calendar. Come out and support this team as they start their way toward a District Championship.
