Dawgs Handle the Tigers

Your Bulldogs were all Many could handle and more.  A frustrated Tiger coach paced the sidelines as all he and his boys could do was get within 8 during the last few minutes of the game Friday night.  Red River defeated Many 75 to 65.

Red River finished district play 3 and 3.  They split with Winnfield, Many and Lakeview, the other teams in the district.

With about five minutes left in the game a quiet chill came over the Dawg Pound.  Suddenly Many was scoring and stealing the rebounds and the Bulldogs didn’t look too good.  But the boys came to life when Many got within 8. Red River got on the ball, made a few good and a couple of great plays, and brought home the victory.

There are three non-district games remaining before playoffs begin.  Coach Dadrian Harris told the Journal they will finish ranked 13 or so in the state.  The LHSAA site ranks Red River #11.  Harris said they will be ready for their playoff opponent.

Earlier this week, Red River Athletics said Bulldog Senior Night would be moved to tonight (Feb 16th).  Loyola’s Flyer comes to town in a game that will begin at 6:00.  The Senior night ceremony begins about 5:45.  Friends and relatives will present gifts to each senior, however this year there will be no balloons allowed in the gym.
