The Riverdale Lady Rebels and Rebels basketball teams both had a great week last week with each picking up 3 wins. The Lady Rebels picked up a 52-31 win at Tallulah. 8th grade point guard Mary Claire Jones was on fire, scoring 23 points in the contest. She also had 7 assists, 7 steals, 2 deflections, and 2 steals. Sky McMullan had an outstanding night as well with 10 points, 8 deflections 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. Rylee Kate Woodard added 7 points and had 8 rebounds. Kenley Loftin was solid across the board with 4 points, 7 rebounds, 5 deflections, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Jessie Kate Cobb added 5 points, and Renee Prosperie added 3 points. The Rebels picked up a 69-49 win. Ty Jones had a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists, along with 5 rebounds. Caden Long added 13 points and had 7 rebounds, and Ben Almond also scored in double figures with 10 points. Denver Williams led the team in rebounding with 9 boards. Kyle Guillory added 7 points, while Reagan Huddleston added 4 points and pulled down 7 boards. Thad Bates and Hayden Hillman had 4 points each.
The Lady Rebels picked up a home district victory against Northeast Baptist by a score of 59-8. The starters never returned to the game after halftime. Rylee Kate Woodard led in scoring with 11 points. She also had 6 deflections, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Mary Claire Jones added 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Makayla Pickett had 8 points and 5 rebounds, and Renee Prosperie had 8 points. The Rebels had an easy time with Northeast Baptist as well, winning by a score of 81-18. Ty Jones led in scoring with 25 points. He also had 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Kyle Guillory added 8 points, and Mason Murray added 7 points. Denver Williams had 6 points and led in rebounding with 12. Ryder Huddleston added 6 points and had 9 boards, while Caden Long and Thad Bates had 6 points each.
The Lady Rebels had another home district blowout win over Tensas, 48-9. Once again, the starters never returned to the game after halftime. Rylee Kate Woodard led in scoring with 12 points. She also had 6 rebounds, 4 deflections, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Kenley Loftin added 9 points, 3 steals, 3 deflections, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. Sky McMullan had 8 points, 7 deflections, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Mary Claire Jones had 7 deflections, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Makayla Pickett added 6 points, 3 deflections, 2 rebounds, and a steal. Jessie Kate Cobb had 5 points, 4 rebounds, an assist, steal, and deflection. Jadyn King, Madison Chamberlin, Georgia Carlisle, and Chloe Jordan added 2 points each. The Rebels also had an easy win, defeating the Chiefs 69-28. Ty Jones led in scoring with 16 points. He also had 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 deflections, and 2 steals. Thad Bates and Ben Almond had 8 points each, while Denver Williams had 6 points and led the team in rebounding with 10 boards. Caden Long and Ryder Huddleston had 7 points each, while Kyle Guillory added 6 points. Mason Murray and Jace Wilhite had 5 points each.
The Lady Rebels and Rebels are in action this week against Central, Briarfield, and Union Christian Academy, which will be a home game on Friday. Come out and support your Lady Rebels and Rebels!
