ETC… For Wednesday, April 14th

Early voting for the April 24th election is being conducted at the Registrar of Voters Office in the Courthouse.  There is only one thing on the Red River ballot.  There is a runoff for a seat on the BESE board.  The Journal recommends you study the candidates, their backgrounds, their accomplishments, and what they say they will do if elected.

The Northwestern State University Steel Band will perform Friday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fleur de Lis Stage at the Natchitoches Downtown Riverbank. Admission is free and open to the public.   The steel band is comprised of instruments from the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. The unique timbre and infectious dance beats make it a fun and exciting concert.

The Louisiana Department of Health is placing a temporary pause on all administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine while federal health agencies investigate whether six reported cases of blood clotting in other states were caused by the vaccine. Providers in the state of Louisiana will continue to use the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and all Louisianans are encouraged to take advantage of the available vaccines, so the state can continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 and put the pandemic in its rearview.
