Precipitation Ending  By Thursday

The local forecast for Red River parish calls for an end to the precipitation on Thursday.  However before than we are due to receive more ice and snow and very cold temperatures.

The weather service predicts 1” of snowfall and .37” to .39” of ice accumulation for Red River Parish.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through Thursday.


Freezing rain before noon, then rain showers. High near 34. Wind chill values as low as 14. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. 

Wednesday Night

A chance of rain showers, freezing rain, and sleet before midnight, then a chance of rain or freezing rain. Cloudy, with a low around 26. North wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.


A chance of snow showers and freezing rain before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.

Friday and throughout the weekend is forecast to be a slow warming trend with very little chance of precipitation.
