ETC… for Wednesday, February 17th

All classes on all Northwestern State University campuses will be held virtually beginning at noon Wednesday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 19.  Employees on all campuses will telework beginning Tuesday, February 16, and will continue working remotely through Friday, February 19, according to NSU President Dr. Chris Maggio.

Red River High said make your days off from school productive.  With no school these next 2 days, if you have a computer and an internet connection we would encourage you to work on your Edgenuity courses. Most students have at least on course on the Edgenuity platform and if you don’t you could always use the study platform in reading, math, ACT, Workkeys, or the virtual tutor in Leap 2025 to stay head and keep your mind sharp. With ACT testing in March, Workkeys going on now, and Leap 2025 state testing in June, now is a good time to keep practicing .

Dr. Kelli Welch Haynes, professor and director of the Radiologic Science program at Northwestern State University, will be elevated to Fellow of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) at the upcoming ASRT annual meeting in June.  To be recognized as a Fellow of the ASRT is one of the highest honors a radiologic technologist can receive, and only a fraction of the 225,000 radiologic technologists in the United States receive this honor.

And a personal note:  The Journal is celebrating it’s fourth anniversary.  We began in February 2017 and are now heading into year number five.  So far that is over 4450 local news stories.  Who says nothing ever happens in Red River Parish?  Thanks to our loyal readers.
