The Red River Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs traveled to Lakeview last Friday for what turned out to be the final season game for both teams. Lakeview was victorious in both games. Final scores were Lady Gators 61 and Lady Bulldogs 56. Then the Gators squeaked by the Dogs 56 to 54.
This was the last season game for the Lady Bulldogs who head to the playoffs this weekend. The Bulldogs had two more games on the schedule, but those have been cancelled.
Jaedyn French-Solton put on an outstanding performance Friday night. She lead the scoring with 23 points, and Jaedyn was 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Other contributors were Kaitlyn Antilley and Erica Babers who each contributed 9 points. Kaitlyn and Erica were also perfect from the free-throw line. Jariyah Hamilton and Cierra Smith scored 6 each and Elizabeth Hughes put in one free-throw.
The boys game was back and forth with Lakeview in command much of the way. The Dawgs were down 2 after the first quarter, up 3 at half, down 1 after three quarters and ended up two points behind. Final score 56 to 54 Lakeview.
Antron Williams lead Bulldog scoring with 15 points and he hit 3 out of 4 free throws. D’Evan McDonald and Trey Smith put up 11 points each. Brandon Harris scored 8, Marcus Brewer 7, and Stanley Sibley 2. Final Lakeview 56 Bulldogs 54.
The Lady Bulldogs begin the road to the state championship Saturday evening at home. They will host D’Arbonne Woods in the Dawg Pound beginning at 2:00 pm. Doors open 1:30. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door until limited gym capacity is reached.
