On Monday, February 1, the Rebels and Lady Rebels traveled to Franklin Academy to continue district play. After falling into a 9-0 hole early, the Lady Rebels managed to fight back and defeat the Franklin Lady Cougars by a score of 44-34. Rylee Kate Woodard led the team in scoring with 15 points. She also had 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Ronda Black also scored in double figures with 12 points and added 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Kenley Loftin scored 8 points and had an outstanding night on the boards, pulling down a career high of 19 rebounds. She also had 2 steals and 1 assist. Pacey Lindsey scored 5 points and had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 blocked shot. Jessie Kate Cobb scored 2 points and pulled down an impressive 10 rebounds. She also had 2 assists and 2 steals. The boys had a much easier night and won by a score of 64-29. All varsity rebels saw playing time. Ty Jones led all scorers with 19 points. He also had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Caden Long added 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, and 1 steal. Parker Almond had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 steals, and 1 assist. Garrett Wilhite had 4 points. Paul Messenger and Noah Wren added 3 points each. Reagan Huddleston and Brennan Edie each had 2 points. Denver Williams rounded out the scoring with a free throw.
On Tuesday, February 2, the teams traveled to Providence Classical Academy to play them in their senior night game. The Lady Rebels were able to defeat the Lady Knights by a score of 55-33. Kenley Loftin led all scorers with 13 points. She also pulled down 8 rebounds, had 3 steals, 2 assists, and 1 blocked shot. Rylee Kate Woodard, Ronda Black, and Jessie Kate Cobb added 9 points each, with Cobb pulling down 4 rebounds. Woodard had 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Black had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 8 steals. Renee Prosperie had 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Mary Claire Jones added 4 points and had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Pacey Lindsey had 2 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Madison Chamberlin and Georgia Carlisle added 2 points each. The boys’ game was definitely a nail biter and came down to the final seconds. The Rebels were able to knock off the district 5 AA champs the Providence Knights by a score of 57-55. Ty Jones was leading scorer with 20 points. He also had 7 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds. Parker Almond also scored in double figures with 15 points. He also had 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Paul Messenger was the final Rebel in double figures with 10 points. Paul also had 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot. Garrett Wilhite had 6 points, 1 rebound, and 1 blocked shot. Caden Long had 3 points and 1 rebound, and Reagan Huddleston had 3 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
