Breakfast Sendoff From First Methodist

Members of First United Methodist Church got up early Tuesday morning.  They were preparing breakfast for players, coaches, and staff of the Red River High Lady Bulldog basketball team.

The breakfast was the idea of church member Cindy Coffee.  She and Pastor Curtis Carroll assembled the cooks and servers to obtain the materials and have the meal hot when the players arrived.

Pastor Carroll said grace and invited the team to dine on eggs, grits, bacon, biscuits and sweet rolls.  Celia A. Norman, Norma Lester, Susan Taylor and Stephen Cox served large portions to the players.

After breakfast, the team was given a tour of the First Methodist Sanctuary and an explanation of the church’s beautiful stained glass windows.  Each player was presented with a small souvenir basketball as a good luck gesture.
