Funeral services for Annie Susie Ouzts, 60, of Ashland, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Ashland Baptist Church with Dr. David Moore and Bro. James Lovell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Ashland Baptist Church under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA.
Susie was born April 3, 1959 in Chestnut, LA and passed away February 8, 2020.
She loved her job and had a calling for taking care of others. She was sweet, sweet Susie who always had a smile on her face. She always said, “God has got this”. Sweet, sweet Susie loved her family. She was always talking about her family and loved them unconditionally. Her nieces and nephews were “her babies”.
Susie always enjoyed her outings with Mrs. Dixie and Mrs. Oleta. She also had special friendships with Julia Adams, Dianne Allison, and Virginia Fair. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Wayland and Lorena Ouzts and one brother, Tom Ouzts.
She is survived by two sisters, Bobbie Lowery and husband, Doug of Quitman, LA and Dora Ward of Chestnut, LA; sister-in-law, Mary Thomas and husband, Glennie of Castor, LA; brother-in-law, Dean Ward of Coushatta, LA; nieces, Connie Adams (Eddie) of Ashland, LA, Penny Joiner (Charles) of Jonesboro, LA, Tammy Anderson of Grayson, LA, and Cathey Harper (Bubba) of Castor, LA; nephews, Tom Ouzts, Jr of Ashland, LA, Bubba Ward of Winnfield, LA, Gary Lowery (Jen) of Quitman, LA, and Ricky Lowery (Gay) of Jonesville, LA; special aunt, Lena Mae Pullig of Ashland, LA; and special friends, Julia Adams and Becky Singletary, both of Coushatta, LA.
Pallbearers will be Gary Lowery, Charles Joiner, Chris Joiner, Bubba Ward, Skip Welch, and Jay Nitz. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Adams, Brandon Adams, Donnie Ward, Bobby Ward, Brian Anderson, and Hannah Adams.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Dhawan, Dr. Richards and staff at the cancer center in Natchitoches, LA, Dr. Wyche Coleman, Specialty Rehab, Ashland Baptist Church and St. Joseph Hospice.
