ETC… for Wednesday, February 5th

Red River Lady Bulldogs have three games left in district play.  The girls are  comfortably sitting as the 2nd ranked team in 2A.  With the win over Lakeview last week the boys moved up to the 3rd ranked team in 2A.   Both are working to win district and are gearing up for a run at state.  Come out this Friday night in Winnfield to see these teams play.

The JV basketball teams at Riverdale wrapped up their season last Saturday with their district tournament.  The boys team are the MAIS District 4 Class A Runner-ups.  The girls JV team did not do as well.  The school posted, “They fell short.  They had a great season & we’re proud of you Rebels!”

From cowboy church arena news:  “Our last playday will be Sunday, February 9th. Just a reminder you have to make 3 shows to receive an award. We will be ordering awards shortly after this show. So depending on arrival of the awards, we are shooting to give awards away in April. We will post on here and mail out reminders to those that make 3 shows when awards arrive, and a definite date is decided.”

Many people in our area are remembering legendary sportscaster Bob Griffin, including Red River High Principal J. C. Dickey.  He said, “Looking at this ball today remembering the legend Bob Griffin.  This is from the Griffin’s Game from this season, September 20, 2019, Mansfield at Red River.   It is now even more special and glad I have it in my office for all to see.   He was one of kind and an amazing man.  His games where always the best in town.  Thank you for all you did.”  Red River defeated Mansfield 6-0 in that game.
