From the National Weather Service office in Shreveport, “a potentially significant severe weather event looks increasingly likely by late Friday into early Saturday.”

The weather service said, “A powerful storm system will enter the region. All modes of severe weather appear to be in play with this system, including the threat of tornadoes in addition to large hail and damaging winds.”

The Red River Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Planning posted, “Severe storms with tornadoes and damaging winds are looking increasingly likely Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Now is the time to prepare!”
