Long-time Red River Football Coach Reginald Prealow will be honored December 14thwith a banquet at the Grand Bayou Resort Event Center. The event is being put on by his friends and classmates.
Reginald Prealow has retired from the Red River Parish School District. His retirement comes after 34 years of dedicated service.
Reginald began his career at Coushatta High School in 1985 as a Social Studies Teacher, Physical Education Teacher as well as Head Baseball Coach. During his tenure, Reginald has also served as an Athletic Director, Discipline Coordinator, and as an Assistant Principal. Reginald became head football coach at Coushatta High School in 1991.
Under his leadership and motivation, Coushatta High School football team made it to the district playoffs for the first time in 21 years. In 1992, one year after accepting the position as Head Football Coach, Coach Prealow lead the Coushatta Choctaws to their first ever LHSAA State Championship win in football.
Reginald has received the State Coach of the Year in Class 2A football in the state of Louisiana. In addition, he has won several district Coach of the Year awards and has lead Coushatta High/Red River High School to numerous district championships. Along with leading the high school team to playoffs and championships, under Coach Prealowʼs tutelage, a plethora of his high school football players have gone on to play the sport at a collegiate level at various universities; one player has even gone on to play football professionally.
