ETC… for Friday, November 22nd

Today, November 22nd is the 56th anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.  He was shot in Dallas, Texas shortly after noon as he rode in a motorcade.  Do you remember where you were that afternoon when you heard the news?

The second round football playoff game is tonight.  The Bulldogs defeated Oakdale last Friday.  They advance to play number 8 seeded Kinder High.  Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.  Journal Sports will be on the air at 6:45 with the play-by-play.  To listen to the game go to RedRiverParishJournal.com and click on “Listen Bulldogs” on the menu bar.

The community-wide Thanksgiving Service will be held Tuesday, November 26that First United Methodist Church on Front Street.  Pastor Ricky Logan will be preaching.  Special music will be provided by First Baptist Church choir. All churches in the area are invited to take part.  Service starts at 6:00 pm.

A couple of dates to put on the calendar:

Nov. 24- Jan. 12, 2020 – Registration for spring semester through NSUConnect 

Nov. 25-29 – University closed for Thanksgiving.

Nov. 25-29 – Local schools will be out for Thanksgiving.

Men of the area are invited to the monthly Men’s Breakfast at First Methodist Church.  Breakfast will be served at 7:00 am on Monday, November 25th.

Here is the schedule of performances for the annual Christmas Gala at NSU:

The 31st annual Christmas Gala will be Dec. 4-6 at the Natchitoches Events Center. Performance times are 7 p.m. each evening with a 9 p.m. performance on Dec. 6. The Gala will also be performed at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
