4-H Leaders Visit Retired Pilot

As part of November’s Veteran’s Service Learning, 4-H Junior Leaders took a “field trip” across the street to visit with retired Lieutenant Colonel Lem Jones, who told them all about his time in the military as a fighter pilot.  Thank you, Mr. Lem and Mrs. Margaret, for your hospitality!

Jones’ wife Margaret said the students were all very polite.  She said that both her and Lem enjoyed their visit.  Margaret said, “He always loves an opportunity to tell his stories.”

Jones piloted an F-4 fighter aircraft during his time in Southeast Asia.  The Jones are proud parents of two decorated and retired Air Force Generals.

4-hers all over the parish are collecting cards, homemade or bought, to send to the military. Cards can be put in collection boxes at each school.
