Local 4-H Members Work at Ag Magic

Do you think food, clothing, lumber and other products only come from a store?  Come to AgMagic to see and learn where your food and fibers really come from!  The AgMagic brochure said it will take children and adults through a journey of Louisiana agriculture and economically beneficial commodities they use every day.

Several 4-H members from the parish took part in Ag Magic recently at the state fair, according to agent Jacque Fontenot.  She said, “The kids that I post are junior high and high school 4-H members.  They either help with presentations or act as tour guides taking students around the building at the State Fair.”  Fontenot added that the last of two groups will go on Thursday and Friday.

The AgMagic experience will be an interactive, visually stimulating environment that will link food and fiber products we use every day to the forests, field crops and livestock produced by Louisiana farmers, ranchers and forest landowners.

AgMagic is in the Agriculture Building at the Louisiana State Fair at Shreveport. Hours are 10:00 am until 9:00 pm daily through November 10th.
