“Bubba” McBride Obituary

Funeral services for Nathan Leo “Bubba” McBride, Jr., 58, of Fairview Alpha, LA were held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Johno officiating.  Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2019 at the funeral home.

Bubba was born November 30, 1960 in Coushatta, LA and passed away October 17, 2019.  Bubba was also known as “Coach Bubba” to the many children he coached for numerous years for the Creston Softball Team.  He loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, and camping.  He also had a passion for Nascar, drag racing and dirt track racing.  Bubba was very talented with the crafts of leather and woodworking, working with antlers, canes, and many other projects.  Bubba was also very active in the Prison Ministry he established, “Fishers of Men” and was instrumental in leading over 180 lives to Christ.  He also deeply loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Doris McBride; and infant sister, Donna Louise McBride.

Bubba is survived by his wife, Suzanne McBride; two sons, Todd McBride and wife, Jessica and Timothy McBride and Cindy Williams; one daughter, Jessica McBride and Shaun Coleman; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Paul McBride and wife, Rebecca; two sisters, Debbie Trevino and husband, Albert and Tammy McCrory and husband, Johnny; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Bubba also had a special companion, his dog, Rebel.

Pallbearers were Dakota Holland, Timothy McBride, Todd McBride, Shaun Coleman, Ryan Tingle, and Steve Sullivan.  Honorary pallbearers were Johnny McCrory, Trey McCrory, Paul McBride, Dr. Stephen White, Caleb Hooks, Alex McBride, Cayden McBride, and Bryce McBride.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Stephen White, Dr. Jordan, cardiac staff of ACS, and 2nd floor nursing staff of Christus Highland.
