The science class at Red River Junior High was challenged to safely land an object. Principal Mike Peter gave The Journal this report:
Ms. Misty Chelette’s 8th graders recently participated in a Fortnite STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) activity. The objective of the STEM activity was to design and construct a parachute system that can carry an object slowly and accurately to the ground to hit a set target.
The students were to design and construct a parachute, test and refine their designs, effectively communicate within their teams, and effectively communicate their findings to the rest of the class.
