JROTC Field Trip to Barksdale Air Force Base

Last Friday was a day of professional development for teachers at Red River Schools.  Col Duffield and Sgt Bunton posted about the Cadets going BAFB in Bossier City.

While the rest of their friends were sleeping in on a day off, 38 RRHS JROTC cadets got up early for a trip to Barksdale Air Force Base. The cadets were so excited about the trip (and the promise of a steak lunch) that they all arrived at least 20 minutes early. They received a tour of the base highlighted by a visit to the Global Air Power Museum and the base fire department.

The JROTC Cadets had great meal cooked by Sgt Benton. After the meal they had some free time to play bean bag toss, or volleyball. Special thanks to Vine Energy who donated the money to cover the meal. We really appreciate their generosity. Also a thank you to Miss Bailey who helped chaperone the trip.
