Assessor Candidate Vaughn Womack has issued a letter to the voters of Red River Parish:
First of all, I would like to say what an honor and privilege it has been for me these past few months campaigning for the office of Assessor for Red River Parish. I want to say thank you for all the kindness, consideration and support each and every one of you have given to me. But most of all, I appreciate the prayers that have been prayed for me and my family. We absolutely could not make it without God’s help and direction.
Now, as we approach the final stretch of this campaign, please consider these important points:
I have almost 28 years of experience in the Assessor’s Office.
I have been Chief Deputy Assessor for almost 20 years.
I am a Certified Louisiana Deputy Assessor with over 460 hours of continuing education credits with the Independent Association of Assessing Officers.
I have been to numerous meetings of the Louisiana Assessor’s Association in Baton Rouge with the Assessor in my capacity as Chief Deputy Assessor.
I have an extensive background in mapping, including skills in reading descriptions of properties.
I am the ONLY employee of the Assessor’s office with the knowledge, qualifications and skills needed to properly assess Personal and Oil and Gas Property in Red River Parish. I have been handling those responsibilities for my whole career in the Assessor’s office and since the Haynesville Shale natural gas play literally exploded our tax base, it is very important to have an Assessor who is familiar with the ins and outs of the assessment of these Oil and Gas properties. I AM that Candidate!
Some have questioned my ability to be able to handle the responsibilities of running the Assessor’s Office. I believe as you consider the previous points you can be assured that when elected, I will be well able to do the job set before me.
I am MY OWN MAN! I’ve run MY OWN race! The only HELP I need is YOURS! Please vote #80 on October 12th!
Thank you all very much. Vaughn Womack
