We Were Biting!

The fish weren’t biting. We were!  A great crowd turned out for the Fourth Friday Fish Fry at Clara Springs in May.

Bro. Bubba Mills oversees Clara Springs and he greeted everyone as they came through the line to get a great meal.  Mills told The Journal, “We had about 350 people come to our fish fry.  Looks like they’re all having a good time.”

For the May event, members of Martin Baptist Church did the cooking and serving.  Most of the men were in the kitchen, however The Journal did get a group photo of the ladies on the serving line.  They were Brandi Jones, Sidney Jones, Sue Kaufman, Kayla Hillman, Mary Tom Cowser, Dovie Beard, Elen McElroy, Candy Jeeter and Charla Brown.

Bro. Bubba’s wife Mandy served as hostess and kept the festivities moving.  A special guest was David Trombetta.  His professional group is DAT Does the Trick and he specializes in balloons.  Trombetta created beautiful and unique centerpieces for the tables.  They featured animals and were made from balloons. Trombetta also shaped the many balloon animals the children were wearing that evening.
