
There may be storms in northwest Louisiana today. The weather service posted on Tuesday, “Severe thunderstorms possible late Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening.” The map accompanying the post showed that Red River Parish would be in the “marginal” area for the chance of storms.
The state transportation department recently re-opened the bridge over Edwards Mill Creek in Bienville Parish. That had caused users of Highway 9 to detour around. But the repairs have been made and the bridge is open once again.
If you travel LA 1 north to Shreveport be mindful that occasional delays still occur. The railroad is still cleaning up a train derailment from a few weeks ago. Some days the road is completely closed, others it is reduced to one lane. Call 511 before going to check road conditions.
