200thWin and All Star Selection Makes a Great Season

The Red River High Baseball and Softball teams have concluded their spring seasons.  Baseball Coach Earl Martin got his 200thcareer win as a coach.  Both teams had players selected to their respective all-star rosters.

In Baseball, The Principal, JC Dickey posted, “Congratulations to this year’s Red River High  Baseball All District Players.  Great job seniors and hello underclassmen.”

Here are the players named to the district All Star team:  
Honorable mention:
Senior Darius Owens – 3rd base and
Senior Jonas Taylor – outfielder
2nd Team:
Senior Demaj Newman – 1st base
Senior John Lewis – outfielder
Sophomore Markell Washington – outfielder and

Sophomore Jaylen Grigg – shortstop
1st Team:
Freshman Pierce Kellogg – pitcher and 
Freshman Ryder Hogan – utility infielder
Of their coach, Dickey said, “Coach of the Year was Coach Martin in his  final season as Head Coach and winning his 200th career baseball game this season.”

There were several members of the Lady Bulldog Softball Team that were named All District.  They are:

10th grader–Elizabeth Hughes-First Team-Utility 

10th grader–Gracie Price-2nd Team- Utility

11th grader–Schelby Narvaez-2nd Team Catcher

10th grader–Kaitlyn Antilley-2nd Team-Shortstop

10th grader–Shakiya Davis-Honorable Mention-3rd Basemen

Dickey said, “All these girls will be back again with more underclassmen. RRHS Softball looking strong in 2019-2020.”
