LEAPS, an initiative of the International Youth Foundation and BHP, creates partnerships with local organizations in West Texas (greater Midland/Odessa area), South Texas (between San Antonio and Victoria), and Northwest Louisiana to equip the areas’ young people—ages 11 to 24—with the skills needed to succeed in school, work, and life and to become more engaged members of their communities.
“Strengthening Youth Opportunity in Rural America: The Power of Investing in Community and Generation Z” is an interactive learning event exploring how best to unlock the potential of young people in rural America and smaller metro areas through holistic approaches to career preparation and economic advancement.
The conference will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 in La Orilla del Rio Ballroom.

During this one-day event participants will learn from, and engage with, educators, regional experts, industry leaders, young people, and practitioners who all play a role in the rural youth development ecosystem.The registration deadline is Monday, May 13th.
