A couple of important patriotic holidays are coming up in the next few weeks. Memorial Day is at the end of May and Independence Day is July 4th. You will want a new, shiny American flag to proudly display. What do you do with the old flag? Randy’s Hardware has donated space on their front porch for the VFW Flag Disposal Box. Put your flag in the box and it will be properly disposed of.
In the wee hours of the morning of April 25, Ruston was rocked by a tornado. The funnel cloud tore through neighborhoods and shopping centers – and Louisiana Tech.
The destruction on campus was catastrophic. The Tech Family and Friends raised more than $1.23 million to benefit Louisiana Tech University in its inaugural Giving Day, held Wednesday. Almost 2,000 donors contributed to the total – the largest number of donors giving during one day in Tech fundraising history.
We are in National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW). From April 27-May 4, 2019, NIIW will focus on the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and will celebrate the achievements of immunization programs in promoting healthy communities throughout the United States. For more information on immunizations for infants, contact the Red River Parish Health Unit or your child’s physician.
We’re into the final stretch of school events for graduating seniors. Here are a few end-of-school events:
May 3 – Last day for seniors at Riverdale. Red River seniors finish up on May 10th
May 6 – JROTC Awards at Red River
May 7 – Senior Awards Night at Red River
May 9 – Riverdale Graduation. Red River Graduation is May 17th.
