Bethany Seals at Riverdale Academy asked The Journal to announce the Riverdale Academy 8th grade class will be having a Bake Sale/Car Wash this Saturday, May 4, at Rivertown Market.  It will begin at 9:00 a.m.  Please come out and support these students as they raise money for their LA History Trip to Baton Rouge and New Orleans later this month.

The Northwestern State University Chamber Choir and Chamber Orchestra will present the world premiere of composer Richard Burchard’s “Falling Stars” on Thursday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Director of Choral Activities Nicholaus B. Cummins will be the conductor.

Celebrate Recovery meets tomorrow and every Thursday evening at Open Door Fellowship.  The evening starts with a light meal at 5:30.

The state literary rally was held last week, and several students participated from Red River High. Principal JC Dickey said, “Congratulations to our Red River High State Literary Rally winners.  Man we have some awesome kids.  Shaniya Beavers, a sophomore finished 2nd place in Accounting. Sagar Patel, a senior finished 4th place in Health.”
