Red River Choir Members Entertain School Board

“A viable choir program” is how Superintendent Alison Hughes termed Red River’s vocal program.  She presented Band Director Yasmine Jason and two students to the board Monday night.

Addison Bounds and Adrianna Bradford are members of the Choir who recently were invited to a choir competition.  Jason told the superintendent, “I am so very proud to announce that today, Red River made history. First, we were recognized as a viable choir program and we were invited to have selected students perform. We traveled this morning and we had two students sing solos. Both students stunned the judges and Red River got superior ratings across the board.” That competition was held in Alexandria.

“This makes Red River history because we have never been invited, and in our first assessment we made superiors (the highest score you can get),” added Jason, “I am so proud of all the hard work these students have done and wanted to share this amazing accomplishment with you.”

Bounds and Bradford performed a song from Beauty and the Beast for members of the board.  They were rewarded with a round of applause from the board and those in attendance at the meeting.
