ETC… for Friday, April 12th

Saturday night is dance night.  The Council on Aging is holding the monthly dance at their building on Front Street. The Playmates will perform beginning at 7:00 pm.  Cover charge is $6.  Refreshments will be available.

Tonight and tomorrow is rekindle marriage enrichment ad celebration weekend at Fairview Baptist Church. It starts with dinner tonight at 6:00 pm.

Next Tuesday Free Health Screenings are being offered at Wired For Love Fellowship in the MaxWay center. Screenings will be offered from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.  It is part of the HEART Program funded by BPH.

Teachers, bus drivers, administrators and support personnel are getting a fatter pay check.  The school board has approved a 3% salary supplement.  It will be included in their April check.

The Easter season is upon us.  Sunday is Palm Sunday with most area churches observing the day of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.  Next week many churches are scheduling Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services.  Check your bulletin on Sunday.

There will also be Easter egg hunts toward the end of the week.  First Methodist Church on Front Street is holding their egg hunt on April 19that 10:00 am.

Also Vacation Bible School plans are underway.  So let the Journal know what your church is offering this summer.

The Easter Holiday break for school children is April 15ththrough 22nd.  The kids will be let out on Friday (today) and not have to hit the books again until Tuesday, April 23rd.
