Pay Raise for Council on Aging Staff

The Board of the Red River Council on Aging has approved a pay increase for COA employees. The vote was taken at the March board meeting on Monday.

The raise is two percent (2%). It will go into effect July first when next year’s budget year begins.

Council Executive Director Liz Cannon requested the increase. Cannon said, “Our workers have not had a pay raise, even a little one, for at least five years.” Cannon explained that the council would receive about $10,000 from the state Office of Elderly Affairs and that would fund the raises.
