Red River’s basketball programs dominated District 3-2A this past season. All of the starting players on both the girls and boys teams earned a spot on the All District teams. Two are going on to play in the coaches association All-Star games. And one player made the state all-star team. Plus both coaches were named coach of the year in district.
Makayia (Mae Mae) Hallmon was selected to the LHSBCA Girls All State second team.
She was also selected to the West girls all-star team.
Named to the District 3-2A Girls first team were Makayia Hallmon, Morgyn Payne, Kaitlyn Antilley and Ma’Kaila Lewis. Honorable Mention went to Danielle Burton and Elizabeth Hughes.
Girls team coach Jamie “Missy” Antilley is the district Coach of the Year. Makayia Hallmon was selected Most Valuable Player.
There were plenty of honors for members of the boys team. Senior Jessie Davis and sophomore Emareyon McDonald were named to the All District 3-2A first team. K.J. Bradley was selected to the second team. While T.J. Williams and Jaylon McDonald got Honorable Mention.
Jessie Davis was selected to the West boys All Star team. Coach Keith Johnson got Coach of the year honors in district.
