At approximately 4:01 p.m. on November 30, 2018 Red River Parish Sheriff’s Communications received a call reporting a disturbance in the parking lot of American Bank and Trust. Coushatta Police Department officers and Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) deputies were dispatched to the location on Ringgold Avenue in Coushatta.
Deputies and officers arrived on scene and made contact with a male subject. The man claimed that two female acquaintances from Natchitoches picked him up near Jones Street in Coushatta, robbed him at gun point and drove him to the bank in an attempt to withdraw money from the ATM. While trying to recover his stolen money and debit card, the two women attacked him and sped away heading south on Ringgold Avenue.
At approximately 4:10 p.m. a patrolling RRPSO deputy observed a car fitting the description of the suspect vehicle at the four-way intersection near the foot of the Red River Bridge. The deputy proceeded to follow the car occupied by two black females onto LA 1 south.
With a second RRPSO unit approaching, at approximately 4:16 p.m. the deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of LA 1 and Sandy Bayou Road in the Hanna community. After confirming that the two occupants were the reported suspects, Kaiaundra Lewis and Keionna Johnson were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Red River Parish Jail (RRPJ) for booking.
During a search of the arrestees and subsequent searches of the suspect vehicle and transport vehicles, a considerable amount of cash, a handgun, a set of scales, drug paraphernalia and a variety of suspected illegal narcotics were collected as evidence by RRPSO deputies and investigators.
