ETC… for October 17th

rrpjetcLast Friday morning there was a Lockdown drill at Red River Elementary School. The PAW Parents posted, “We PRACTICED what to do in case this type of situation happened at our school. All classes handled the practice great. Do not be alarmed if your child comes home discussing our lockdown. Safety is always on our minds.”

We’re getting a good bit of rain across the parish. Road ditches are almost full in spots. The National Weather Service office in Shreveport posted that we may get more rain through Wednesday afternoon. “Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches, with isolated higher amounts exceeding three inches, will be possible through Wednesday afternoon over much of East Texas, North Louisiana, and extreme Southern Arkansas. Lighter amounts are expected over Southeast Oklahoma, much of Southwest Arkansas, and the southern sections of North Central Louisiana.”

Weather.com is predicting Red River’s chances of rainfall are 40% Wednesday, dropping to 20% for Thursday and Friday. There is a 50% chance of rain on Saturday.

The high school football line-up for this Friday has Red River on the road and Riverdale at home. Friday is Senior Night at Riverdale Academy. They will be hosting Tensas Academy. Red River has their longest road trip of the season. They travel to Bunkie for a district contest.

The Journal will stream both games live on our website and social media pages. The link will go up about 6:40 Friday night. The broadcasts begin at 6:45 and the kickoff time is 7:00 pm. Go to the game if you can but listen if you cannot attend.
