Homecoming Activities All Week at Red River High

There will be something special that makes each day next week standout. It’s Homecoming at Red River High School. In addition to Red River, alumni are being invited from Coushatta, Martin and Hall Summit schools.

Mom and dad, the kids are not making it up. There is a special “dress up” each day. The schedule included Meme/Character Monday, Trailride Tuesday, Old vs. New Wednesday, Twinkie Thursday, and Fandom Friday. School officials note that all clothing must be school appropriate.

The Homecoming football game Friday October 12th is a district contest. The Lakeview Gators will be in Strother Stadium, so come early to get a great seat.

Red River’s Homecoming Court has been announced. Members are:

9th grade Maid is Payal Patel 10th grade Maid is Shauntraiel Smith 11th grade Maid is Keyanna WinnTheer ROTC Sweetheart is Alexis Keith Band Sweetheart is Sha’Crystal Haskett Football Sweetheart is Alicia Lewis The six 12th grade maids are LaQuiriya Allen, Mya Bradley, Alivia Demery, Lykyria Horton, Demetria Newton, and Victoria Rivers. Homecoming King is Jack Swift. Note that the Homecoming Queen will be announced on the field at halftime.

Earlier in the day on Friday, Red River High will be hosting their Annual Alumni Reception. It is from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Pat Strother Memorial Stadium. This year we are honoring all graduates from a Red River Parish Public School who graduated on any of the following years 2008, 1998, 1988, 1978,1968, 1958, 1948, 1938 etc. Each Alumnus can enjoy light refreshments and a free pass to the football game. Come cheer on our Red River High Football team as they continue their path to the state championship.

Red River Principal J C Dickey announced the return of the Homecoming Dance. It will be held in the old Junior High Gym beginning at 7:00 pm. Awards will be given for the Best Dressed, Best Coordinated Couple and Best Red Carpet Entrance. Admission is $5 per person or $8 per couple. The dance will be Saturday night, October 13th.

The Journal will provide live coverage of the game and all halftime activities. The broadcast begins at 6:45 and the game kicks off at 7:00 pm.
