Both high school football teams are on the road tonight. Red River is traveling to Arcadia for a game with the Hornets. An earlier schedule published on the LHSAA website listed the game as a home game, however that is not the case. Riverdale Academy is traveling to south Mississippi for a game with Wilkinson County Christian Academy of Woodville. Both games kickoff at 7:00 pm. Journal Sports will be on the air with live coverage of BOTH games. Go to http://www.RedRiverParishJournal.com and click on the game you wish to listen to.
Here is a note for Red River Elementary PAW Parents:
“We are gonna have a meeting/get together on September 13th from 5:30-630 to put together our baskets for our basket raffle that’s going to be our first fundraiser.
We will have 5 different themed baskets; LSU, Saints, Hunting/Fishing, Fall/Halloween, and Game night. Raffle tickets will be $1 for 1 chance or $5 for 6 chances. I will have everything needed for the baskets; we just need to get them put together. Any help will be greatly appreciated.”
If you have not completed hunter education, the next course will begin September 17th. Instruction will be given at the Sheriff’s shooting range on Highway 371. The course is three evenings beginning at 5:30 each day.
The Journal had the opportunity to meet two new members of the local health care community this week. Moses K. Ajayi, MBA is the new Director of Clinical Operations with Christus Coushatta Health Care Center. And we were introduced to Jeanette Tilley. She recently earned her Family Nurse Practitioner. Tilley said she will begin by shadowing doctors in the local rural health clinic and she will also work in the rural health clinics in Ringgold and Boyce that are part of the Christus Coushatta system.
