The eighth grade class from Riverdale Academy is going on a field trip. Later this month they will visit Baton Rouge to see the Capitol and other sights.

Last Saturday was warm and sunny and a great day for a car wash. The Journal spoke with Ely, Denver and other boys busy washing vehicles. Connie Mabile was giving instructions on doing a great job. And she got some suds on her as well.

Also in the Rivertown parking lot was a fishplate sale. You got a generous portion of delicious fried fish, a pile of French fries and hush puppies. Just about more than one person could eat.

No desert? Look by the store entrance. The eight graders had a table set out with cookies and cakes and other treats. The Journal went straight to the big gooey chocolate brownies.

The eighth grade trip to Baton Rouge is planned for April 18th.
