The Red River Parish Police Jury wants to meet with those in the oil and gas industry concerning damage to parish roads. A release from Supervisor Jessie Davis states that the jury is wants to meet companies and contractors engaged in hauling heavy loads. For some time the jury has been discussing the extreme wear and tear being done to roads in the parish primarily by oil and gas exploration and the production of natural gas.
The meeting will be held February 23rd at 10:00 am in the Police Jury assembly room on the third floor of the courthouse. The jury is notifying all companies involved in natural gas exploration and production asking them to send a representative to the meeting. Davis said, “We are asking all companies to share in the cost to repair these roads.”
