The Red River Parish School Board recognized its “Students of the Year” at the February board meeting. Superintendent Alison Hughes presented certificates to the top three students at Red River Elementary, Red River Junior High and Red River High schools.

Students from the 5th, 8th and 12th grades are selected each year as the top students based upon an interview process. The top three in these grades are guests at the school board meeting and the winner in each category is announced.

The student of the year from Red River Elementary School is 5th grader Rafe Suggs. Top student at Red River Junior High School is 8th grader Jeyden Young. And the student of the year from Red River High School is Adriana Bradley.

Superintendent Hughes told the board that Bradley has been an outstanding student during her entire career in Red River schools. Bradley was named student of the year when a 5th grader at Red River Elementary. Then she was named Junior High student of the year while in the 8th grade. Now Bradley is a senior at Red River High and she has been selected as student of the year there also.
